I've said it once and I will say it again, I am a sucker for Percy Jackson. I don't care if it is written for a preteen audience the books are fun to read and I love to see what our little Demigods get themselves into next.
The Blood of Olympus is the final wrap up for the Heroes of Olympus series, and I think Riordan wraps everything up nicely.
I was a little unsure at first because there were a lot of lose ends to tie up. There are a lot of questions about who is going to be the one that dies to fulfill the prophecy. How are they possibly going to destroy Gaea? There were a lot of unanswered questions. But Riordan takes care of most of the questions and leaves a few for a future series.
The only thing I didn't like was that there were a lot of conflicts and they were often solved a little too easily for my taste, but I am not a 13 year old girl any longer so that could be part of the problem.
My recommendation is that if you are going to read this book you need to read all 7 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books first, then you need to read the first 4 books in this series as well.
Sorry this post is so short. It's been crazy. More to come.
