Blue Lily Blue // Maggie Stiefvater

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all doing well today.
You may have noticed some changes to the blog by the time that you are reading this. I have my new logo now and it is lovely, so I am doing just a few changes, with more to come.
But let's get down to business and jump right in to my thoughts on Blue Lily Blue my Maggie Stiefvater.
If this is your first time reading my reviews welcome. I know that those people who have been with me for a while know about my love of all things Maggie. She recently published a story on Facebook and Twitter about feminism and her experience being belittled and spoken down to, it was extremely touching and a thoughtful read of why women shouldn't have to put up with that kind of shit from men. You can find the link to that article here: THE ANATOMY OF RAGE
Anyways this article just made me love her even more.
Blue Lily Blue is actually the third book in the Raven Cycle. The first book is Raven Boys, the second is Dream of Thieves, and the fourth will be called Raven King (which you will be able to read February 2015).
Amazon Description:
The third installment in the mesmerizing series from the irrepressible, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater.
Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.
The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost.
Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.
In a starred review, THE BULLETIN called THE DREAM THIEVES, the previous book in The Raven Cycle, "a complex web of magical intrigue and heart-stopping action." Now, with BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE, the web becomes even more complex, snaring readers at every turn.

I love this description because it just sums up my thoughts on Stiefvater's writing in a nutshell. "complex web of magical intrigue" , "heart stopping action", "complex", and "snaring readers at every turn".
I absolutely love to be snared and have to have my heart stop. It's actually strange that I don't like mysteries and thrillers anymore than I do, but I have a hard time getting into them without the magical intrigue part.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It wasn't jaw dropping, there wasn't a huge cliffhanger, but it kept the pages turning and it kept me wondering what is going to happen next for Blue and her Raven Boys. I am very excited for the fourth book in the series and somewhat disappointed that I have to wait so long.
